[This is the kind of thing Rita never dreamed could happen--not going home, but being able to bring Tyr with her. It makes the visit that much better.
They enter Terca Lumireis on a grassy ridge overlooking green plains, with a mountain range behind them. Or what's left of the mountain range; most of it appears to have collapsed into a huge pile of stone, towers, and rubble.]
[ He feels like he's heard that name before, but he can't even think of when or where now. The fact he's finally seeing Rita's world is too overwhelming. It's not as foreign has he thought it'd be (as he's realising more and more as he turns around to take it all in), but just being there was amazing. Seeing Terca Lumireis was always something he regarded as a pipedream. ]
Yeah--where I used to live before it was destroyed. It was an imperial blastia research city.
[She wouldn't be anywhere near this excited if she was alone. She almost can't believe Tyr is standing here with her, in her world, and she turns away from the ruins to watch him instead.]
[ Hearing that makes him deflate a little. If she was living there before, the ruins can't be that old despite the state they're in. It makes him pause silently for a few moments before he turning back to her. ]
I didn't know that... Is it being rebuilt elsewhere?
[She tries to offer a supportive smile. Its destruction is something she mourns, in her own way, but there's no way it can be reversed.]
I don't know. It hasn't really been all that long, but the empire and the remaining mages might be thinking about it. I was busy with research, though.
[ He returns a lopsided little smile in response to that. "The remaining mages" just makes him think of the toll losing that city must have had, but he tries not to think of that. It's easier to think of Rita doing research. ]
[Even Rita can't pretend that the books and research were the only things lost. She scratches her cheek and nods, though.]
Well, there's always plenty to research...
Anyway--look over there.
[She turns in the opposite direction from the mountain and points towards the center of the plains, where a massive tree with flowers in bloom rises. It seems like a better place to focus on.]
[ Rita's really had a sad life from what Tyr can tell... Not that he pities her, but it's a thought that comes to him until Rita distracts him from it again. ]
Ah-
[ At her direction, he turns towards the tree that looks completely pink from their position. His eyes go wide with wonder again as he stares at it, taking in its size that makes the village underneath it look almost small. ]
[ Without a doubt. Tyr wants her to see Gregminster sometime, too. ]
I see... [ And now maybe he'll be able to see all the different flowers when they come into bloom. It makes him smile a little to imagine, and that smile stays there as he continues to explain. ]
There was a large tree back in my world, but it didn't have lowers like that... There was a village there, though...
[She'd like to see the place he calls home, too. After he's seen some of her world...
Rita smiles back, and easily starts thinking about the trees.]
I think trees like this are pretty rare. This one actually fused with its barrier blastia, and they became something like a spirit...The only other time I've seen trees this unnaturally huge was when they were contaminated with too much aer.
[ And then once she does, he wants to see more of hers. It feels like they have more than entire lifetime to do that. ]
Ah... [ He thinks about that as he stares at the tree. It's a lot to take in. By now, he can think clearly enough to know aer isn't an issue anymore. ] So that blastia brought that tree to life?
[Gremio's cooking~! And flying around with Ba'ul--wait, Rita'd rather stay on the ground, actually...
Blastia~ Clearly Rita thinks that the tree and blastia becoming a spirit together makes much more sense than the tree having a soul to begin with, and she stares right back at him.]
Yeah, that's right. I'd meant to study the tree here to find out more about it, but I hadn't had the chance yet.
She nods; studying the tree is certainly something she'd still like to get to, but not right now.]
In this area? There's the Shaikos Ruins further down the mountain range, and plenty of monsters. We could go to the capitol...That would take a few days.
[ He'll hold her hand forever!! Unlike the usual.////
It would be a boring trip if she was just poking around a (really interesting) tree all day, so he's glad she's fine with putting that off.
After hearing about Aspio, he's not in any mood to see more ruins. ] It might be okay to take a few days' trip... And there'll be monsters along the way anyway.

Is that real?

Of course it's real! They wouldn't build a fake tree in the middle of a city like that.

It's so big, though. I haven't seen one like that since...

Are those all flowers?

Date: 2012-02-01 02:04 am (UTC)You've seen one like it?
[She tilts her head curiously, but then moves on to answer his question.]
Yeah, that's right. The tree produces a few different kinds of flowers that bloom during different points of the season.

Date: 2012-02-01 03:21 am (UTC)Yeah. Even before we converted all the world's blastia to spirits, that tree somehow changed on its own.

N-no way. It was because of the blastia! They have, like...the remnants of a consciousness in them, and the tree must've brought it to life.

Date: 2012-02-01 04:22 pm (UTC)Tyr stares at her. It would figure she'd be too cynical to think a tree would have its own soul. That and blastia is more like ♥blastia♥. ]
