farewell and take care

With the route between their worlds secured and the technology and techniques needed for the travel perfected, visiting other worlds was more than a possibility. It opened up opportunities to study the magic of other worlds and, hopefully, come closer to finding the means to remove and permanently seal the Soul Eater.
However, even with sealing the Soul Eater as their main priority now, that didn't mean that they couldn't - or didn't - have the time to take a break. Just as much as traveling between worlds widened their understanding of magic, it also brought more for them to explore just for their own enjoyment.
This particular world wasn't quite like theirs. "Magic" was a loosely defined concept, and carrying weapons was not only unnecessary, but frowned upon. It was a lot like some of the worlds Tyr heard about while he was in the City, and now that he had been to one, he couldn't say they held much interest for him. It was safe, but it didn't feel entirely alive, either.
All and all, he wouldn't have chosen to come back if not for another unique feature--the amusement park.
Not far from where they entered the world, a large amusement park loomed over them. A ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, and a bunch of other rides that weren't in the City sat inside, and the number of local guests going in and coming out happily was enough to assure Tyr that it was safe to visit.
And it was.
Arriving sometime after lunch, Rita's hand in his, he pulled her into the park with him. Even if he didn't think Rita needed a break, he wouldn't have gone without her. From the outside, it looked big, but it felt even bigger from the inside. There were more games and rides than Tyr's seen in one place before, and even as the sun began to set, he wasn't thinking of going home. They were already deep in the park where the crowd was growing thin, and Tyr was looking around for the next ride to try.
The only thing that really occurred to him, turning his eyes to Rita, was, "Are you getting hungry?"
