[ Tyr's wandering around the square now and taking advantage of the lack of curses to look at the different stores. It's more or less just a leisurely walk, though. Eventually, he stops around building ten and posts to the network. ]

[ video ]
It was like this before a while ago, wasn't it? More than a week without any curses. [ He doesn't sound all that certain about it. ] It makes me wonder if the deities are saving their energy for something big to happen later...

...If they are, then I... [ He starts, but then thinks better of it. ] Nevermind.

[ And he turns the device off. ]

[ Dancing and casting and sleeping while reading--all at once!! ]

It's a town there, yeah. [ When the music comes on though, it doesn't exactly remind him of Rockland, which is probably why he looks a little surprised. It has a strong sort of feel to it that he doesn't exactly mind... Or maybe he's heard music like it around the City enough to not mind. ]

[The ultimate multitasker!!]

With a name like that, it sounds like it'd be in mountains or something. [She wonders a bit about his country for what might be the first time. Before, she was mostly just interested in the magic, but now she wants to know more about where Tyr came from...

And she's not sure if this is a good kind of surprised! So she tilts her head curiously, watching him.] Anything like home?

[ That's why she's a genius unlike everyone else!!! ]

It's not far from one. But I think it's actually called that because it's barren... [ He likes talking about home, too, even though Rockland isn't the happiest place in the country. He'll tell Rita as much about his world as he can, though. Maybe it'll make it seem less like it's impossible for either of them to actually see other worlds.

He gives it a moment's consideration before shaking his head. ] Not really... It's not much more danceable than the last song, either.

[Huff that's right!!]

But people still live there? [And if he's willing to talk, she's more than okay with listening, though she tries not to think of them ever seeing each other's worlds--an impossibility.

While she's a little curious, it's strangely overridden by her interest in helping Tyr find music from his world, so she lifts the "metal" disc.] Then let's try this one next. If that doesn't work, then we'll go through some more.

[ B) ]

Yeah... It's as poor as you'd imagine it to be, though... [ He pauses, thinking back to the last time he was there. ] But it might get better there in the future. [ Tyr is really good at being in denial about everything...

He looks over at her curiously when she does. She really is determined to help him... ] All right... Thanks. [ And jokingly- ] Too bad we don't have a Metaland in Toran...

[The denial gets her curious! There has to be a reason for him to be optimistic, right?] Did they find some kind of resources or something?

[She offers him a smile. They'll definitely find his music, one way or another!] Or a rapland?

I don't think so... [ Mrr... ] The president could help them, though, so...

[ Heck yeah they will. And they can joke around in the meantime. ] There's not a Popland either.

Is the president that kind of person? [A hint of skepticism, though she's mostly just curious.]

[And aw yeah. They'll have fun while they look.] Too bad. Maybe it'd be a nonstop party.

[ And Tyr...really likes Toran and Lepant. He nods, smiling now. ] Yeah. He really cares about the country; I'm sure he'll do something.

[ Laughing a little! Already fun here. ] Haha. Maybe someone can settle it and make that happen.

[Her expression softens a little. It's not like she's ever going to meet the guy, so she might as well take that at face value--and there's no reason not to believe Tyr.] I guess if he's anything like the new emperor back in my world...

[All the fun! Rita reaches over to press the play button so Tyr can listen to that "metal" stuff.] Now that's the kind of place that'd be interesting.

The new emperor? [ She hasn't really mentioned that before! He's curious. ]

The City'll probably make it hap-- [ He stops midsentence and the song starts, and his eyes widen as he listens. What...is he listening to... ]

Yeah. Estelle's cousin or something. For a noble, he's not bad. [From what she's seen, anyway.

--And what is that reaction even. Rita blinks and stares at him for a second.] Bad or good this time?

[ He smiles a little. ] If he's related to Estelle, he can't be too bad.

[ For once, Tyr is completely sure of how he feels. He pulls off the headphones, shaking his head. ] Bad.

Well, I don't know if he's as good as her, but he's okay.

[Wow, Rita almost wants to know what kind of music could possibly make him react like that. Almost.] Must be something pretty awful.

It figures you'd say that... [ So sappy for Estelle...

Rita doesn't get a choice. He slips them onto her ears to let her listen. ] Hear it for yourself.

Huh? [Her best friend!!

She starts with a hey, but she doesn't even close her mouth before the music assaults her ears, and her eyebrows immediately furrow.]

Because you have a bias for her. [ Best and first!! Tyr thinks it's cute.

And he stares at her wondering if she...would actually like it. What does he know about her world's music? ] So?

A bias? You think she's a good person too, don't you? [First real friend ever. ;v;

It's definitely not this. After a few stunned seconds, Rita yanks the headphones off and makes a face.] I think I need to listen to something mellow.

She is. And I think that you'd say she'd beat anyone in that. [ And forever!

Tyr's lips curl up in a wry smile seeing her reaction. He turns off the song and puts the disc back in its case. No more hurting each other's ears. ] Then let's find some music from Toran.

Well--maybe she would. [Even if there's that slight catch in her voice-! Rita's met a lot of good people now, though it's true Estelle might always be the best to her.

And they can steer completely clear of that section now!] I'm just glad it wasn't that. Anyway, none of those sounded close at all, right?

[ Smirking! ] I knew it. [ Tyr doesn't even mind that. There's something about first friends that's always special.

Yes. Like it's poison. A bit more sombrely, he shakes his head. ] No... We don't even really use most of those instruments there...

I-it's Estelle, okay? [H-huff! Clearly that should explain all.

Rita ponders this, tapping her chin.] We might have better luck trying something totally different. Let's see what other sections there are.

I know it is. [ It does for Tyr...

That sounds like a good enough suggestion to him, so he shrugs. ] All right. This is a pretty big place, so it has to be somewhere...

[Good! Rita's expression softens again, and she hangs on to the discs they want to keep while shoving the rest on a random shelf.] And even then, there must be tons of music from all different worlds. They might not be able to carry it all here. We could look at other stores, too.

[ They'll take care of themselves. Talking about this with Rita makes him excited. Might as well start looking at the other sections now! ] It's a good think the City's been calm lately; this could take a while if we check other shops.
