[Rita is the most thoughtful right?! But she wasn't kidding when she said she'd be right there--she'd already been on her way from elsewhere in the city, so it barely takes her any time before she's walking over (wearing her cat coat) with a bag in hand.]

Hey.

[ That was quick! When he sees her and the bag, he figures she must have been out shopping again. Still, she looks okay, so a small, easy smile comes to his face. ]

Hey. That was pretty quick.

I was around.

[She smiles back and comes to a stop right in front of him--and wasting no time, the bag gets thrust in his direction.]

Here. It's for you.

[ He takes it, and it only takes him a second to get over his surprise and smile broadly back at her. ]

Thanks.

[ Should they go inside for this? Tyr doesn't really want to - so he just holds the bag in one arm and looks inside-! ]

[She watches him, eager (as much as she might deny it) to see his reaction.

And because Rita thinks wrapping paper is ridiculous, the gift inside is simply covered in a plain, protective cloth. It's somewhat heavy, silver in colour, and about a dozen inches wide, with a deep blue blastia core front and center and a lid on the top. Naturally, it's a Rita-made music player!]

Well?

[ He isn't looking at her, but when he sees it's not just something she bought, his expression turns curious. At first he doesn't really know what it is - it's just pretty - and he just lets the bag fall so he can pick it up with both hands and admire it. He's sure he's seen something like it before in Rita's study...and a few seconds later, it clicks.

And that's when a smile slowly comes to his face again. ~~It's a jewellery box!~~ He holds it more gently now. ]

You made this?

[Her smile is almost smug as she sees his reaction and answers him. She made it just for him, after all.]

Of course. You don't have anything like it, right?

[ He doesn't even mind how smug she is. As far as he's concerned, it's amazing. He shakes his head, periodically looking back at the music player. ]

No... This is the first one I've ever had that's not just a music box...

[ Tucking it into his elbow, he tilts his head towards the entrance. ] Wanna try it out?

[Good, because she grins even more!] Naturally, nobody else around here would make one just like this.

[But at his suggestion, her smugness fades a bit so that she's just very, very pleased.] Like you need to ask.

I didn't think anyone here could make something close to this. [ And he's really grateful for it. It's one of a kind- from his best friend.

He reaches out his hand to take hers. ] Then come on.

[Hearing that makes her even more pleased and proud with the blastia. She's already tested it herself, of course (she couldn't give it to him if it didn't work), but she wants to see how he really likes it, and takes his hand.] Coming. I already programmed some music into it, just for this.

Good. We could probably use a few songs-- and you need to show me how to use it, too.

[ So she planned for them to have a dance together already? Tyr can't say he's disappointed by any of this. From the entranceway to the door to the front room - Tyr doesn't even try to hide his excitement, though it's already pretty understated. ]

Oh, yeah. I'll show you when we get in. I don't think you'll have any problem using it.

[Just seeing that he's already happy and at least a little excited makes her feel pretty good. She's had something like this in mind ever since he told her that he didn't have any kind of music player.

Once they're inside, she wastes no time slipping off her coat.]

[ Once she does that, he remembers that he's still completely covered himself. He got a little too excited... He sets the blastia down on the table and takes off his winter clothing, leaving it in a pile on a chair. ]

I didn't think I would... I just want to make sure I use it right.

[She's wearing a colourful skirt, stockings, a light sweater, and even the golden ribbon she likes so much. Not that she purposely wore anything flashy for dancing or anything!]

I wouldn't want anyone just fiddling with this one, either. So come over here. [She heads on into the apartment and carries the player to a table for him.]

[ Tyr almost wishes he had! He can already imagine she'd look great dancing in that outfit... He's wearing a bright red turtleneck (he wears these a lot...) and a simple pair of khaki-coloured track pants while his winter boots are by the chair with the rest of his outerwear.

He follows beside her to where she sets the player up. ] Don't worry; I'll be the only one touching it.

[He can be prepared next time! Rita doesn't take much notice of it, besides noting that he does like those bright turtlenecks (and he's probably comfy in all of that, too).]

Good. Now, look--this turns it on. [She demonstrates with a very light tap to the core, which immediately glows with soft, deep blue light. The blastia's controls appear as the usual touchscreen in the air just above it, and Rita points out the commands that are displayed there.]

You can pretty much control everything with this. There's volume, a databank of music that I put in, and even a way to play those music discs they sell around here. I studied one of those players to install that function here.

[ He is! Though comfort isn't the only reason he wears them.

When she starts explaining the features, he becomes even more interested, staring at the controls and then over at Rita. ]

Wow... You really out did yourself when you made this... [ He was glad she made him a music player at all. Now he's thoroughly impressed. Maybe he'll have to buy some of the discs later to try! ]

[Yep...Gotta have the high neck.

She practically beams at him as her hands drift over the controls to pick some music.] I only make the best blastia, after all.

So...I just put a couple songs on here for dancing. You can add whatever you want later--it'll copy music from those discs and store it here.

[ Yep... He wears normal shirts when he's just at home, at least!

She's also the only one who makes blastia...but even if she had competition, he'd probably agree. ]

I still need to get discs to copy off of... But I can get those later. [ He watches her pick some music- ] We already have songs to test out now- and it's been a while since we've gotten to dance.

[Aww, there's that, at least. ;3;]

[She'd claim to be the best with or without the competition! But for now, she selects the music and smiles back at him as her finger hovers over the "start" command.] Hey, let's go pick some out later.

[ Yeah! Not always in stuffy clothes... ]

[ As Tyr well knows... But picking something out together? He likes that idea! He nods. ] As long as you know where to go. We might as well choose things together.

[Yes, get some airflow going, Tyr!]

Hmm...I didn't pay much attention to them, but I can find one no problem. Anyway- [She goes ahead and starts the music, some kind of lively pop tune that's perfect for dancing, and then she holds out her hand for Tyr.] Ready to try it out?

[ Let the breeze flow across your neck~! ]

[ Of course he's going to agree! The music isn't totally familiar, but he gets the beat well enough. Nodding, he takes her hand and pulls her away from the table. ] You shouldn't have to ask.

[Free iiiit~]

Then let's do it! [Naturally! She grins and moves with him until they're in an open enough space, and then she starts to move with the music.]
